MEET OUR FOUNDERS

4.png

Arssante Malone, MA

  • Brother Arssante is an educator, a certified Islamic Life Coach, a certified Curriculum Developer, an educational consultant with over 15 years of international experience in education as a teacher, instructional coach, and school leader. He's passionate about course creation, workshop facilitation, and building community.

He is the founder of Sublime Soulutions, a small practice that provides SEL workshops and courses to young Muslims and Black fathers.

Arssante also founded BAD Budo Kai, an organization developed to provide SEL guidance to youth through martial arts and life coaching.

He’s built multimillion dollar courses for nonprofits, traveled the world facilitating workshops to educators, and has extensive K-12 and university level teaching experience.

  • Our mission is to curate safe spaces for Muslim men to learn ways to improve their emotional intelligence while also activating their personal growth through faith-based life coaching and interactive workshops designed to enhance the intricate dimensions of their mind, body, and soul.

  • At Co-Lead, all of his previous roles and experience converge and allow him to use his unique insight and expertise to curate courses, provide professional development to educators, and lead a culturally affirming learning institution with his partner Dr. B.

Brittani Clark, PhD

  • Brittani Clark, Ph.D. is an educator, researcher, and community advocate dedicated to advancing educational equity and opportunity for the Black community. With over 15 years of experience spanning early childhood through higher education, she has worked to expand access to transformative learning experiences and resources for youth.

A former lecturer and university supervisor, Dr. Clark holds a Master of Teaching in Special Education and a Ph.D. in Teacher Education and Learning Sciences.

Her work at CO-LEAD unites her passions for collective action, literacy, and community-driven change, where she applies her strategic planning expertise to design and sustain initiatives that center youth voice and liberation in education.

  •  The Black Girls for Liberation Collective (BGFLCollective) was founded in 2021 in response to a community need that was left unmet. Often Black girls are dismissed and thus become invisible, OR they are hypervisible to those who only see them through a deficit lens.  We recognize the brilliance of Black girls and the need for them to have sacred spaces to convene, develop, understand self, build relationships with one another, be affirmed, and dream out loud. The Black Girls for Liberation Collective was developed with Black adolescent girls, particularly those navigating the transitions from elementary to middle school in mind.

  • Her work at Co-Lead bridges all of the work she has so passionately engaged in over the last decade plus, believing in the voice and movement of youth and collective community.

In addition to having over 30 years of professional experience between them, Dr. B and Baba Arssante are parents of 7 beautiful Black visionaries, explorers, creatives, entrepreneurs, global citizens, advocates, and students of knowledge.  The vision for CO-LEAD was birthed from their experiences parenting while traveling the world and building community with the wonderful people in it. Our dream is to connect the global majority through education, inspiration, and the collective innovative collaboration that leads to a brighter future for all of us.
